Other trusted adults with a heart for mentoring and serving the next generation
You don't have to have all the answers to be a mentor. We're looking for dependable adults who can listen, encourage, share their experiences, and help young people recognize their potential.

YLVA mentors help facilitate the YLVA Pathways experience alongside other members of the YLVA team. During the program year, mentors can expect to:
-
Participate in approximately two after-school mentoring sessions per month.
-
Help lead discussions, activities, and experiences centered around faith, life skills, leadership, and personal development.
-
Build positive and consistent relationships with mentees.
-
Encourage students in their academic, personal, and future goals.
-
Collaborate with fellow mentors and YLVA leadership.
-
Participate in select YLVA activities, service opportunities, and gatherings throughout the year.
We're Better Together
At YLVA, we recognize the value of front-line adults—educators, school staff, mentors, community leaders, and others who interact with young people every day. When caring adults collaborate, share experiences, and work toward a common purpose, we can create a stronger circle of support around the next generation.
Our mentors aren't expected to do this work alone. We build together.
